Now, OpenProtect is disabled, the original MTA ( in the example outpout above, it is exim) is enabled and all the OpenProtect files are removed, while the configuration files in /etc/MailScanner are backed up at /var/openprotect-backup/etc/MailScanner/. If your distribution is not a sysv based one, for eg Gentoo or Slackware, then you will get the following output instead:
Continuing with disabling...This system does not support SysV init scripts, you can manually disable openprotect by
chmod 000 /etc/init.d/openprotect
and enable your exim
Removing the installation files...
Version is 5.0.1.7
Removing this installation and backing up critical files...userdel: error removing directory /var/lib/clamav
Removed installed package version 5.0.1.7
So, on a non-sysv distribution, you have to manually enable your MTA init script. For example, on Gentoo, you will have to run rc-update add exim default. Replace exim with your appropriate MTA in the above command. After enabling your MTA and starting it, send a test mail to your email address and verify that the mail has been successfully delivered.
