We are planning to build up a website ( portal ) that’s main reason is to serve students and present many useful and helpful services to them. Currently, we based all our work on a forum (vbulletin one) which contains around 30,000 members. We want make use of the forum database and make it useable for forum and web site i.e. share the same database OR integrate them together .

The services that we want to start with are:

Knowledge Exchange :
That’s an important service!
when the member OR the visitor enter this section , he asked to select his college , then he asked to chose his major , then , a list of all of the selected major courses will displays .
After the visitor || member select one of the courses from the list . a description of the course appears ( name , credits , etc… ) , Resource list ( previous exams , Homework’s , projects , slides , e-books ) these data will be filled either by admin , or by the members , in the case of members : it must be approved from the admin before it been published .

Professor rating :
The MEMBER, select a college from a list then all the professors’ names will then appears on a list. after choosing one from the list it will take him to a form ( most of the form fields will be check box or radio buttons ) and after the member submit his rating it will goes to the website Admin who will decide to approve that rating or reject it .

Find Collegian:
Based on the college filed on the member profile (that the member must input when register in the forum || website) the other members can seek for a collegian depending on the college on the first criteria, the studying level in the second, the gender! .
There should be an option on the user profile enable him to set (allow other to seek for you!) or something like that.

Colleges News :
A simple categorized news publisher, the news published by the admin.

Elite Articles :
That’s will be a simple article publishing component. The idea is to chose the elite articles on the forum and to post here .

The main criteria of the system :
• Integrated with the forum DB in the ( MEMBERS table , information ..etc… ) . and forum templates such as ( memberinfo , memberlist ..etc ) .
That means if someone register in the forum he will have the privileges to access the website and add some information that required registration. And if he adds a content to the website his profile will be updated as well .
• It's highly recommended that the system will be built as a plug-in / product approach .
• Adaptable for future additions and compatible for vbulleiten versions ( > 3.6.3 ) .
• RTL (Right to Left text and layout direction) ARABIC language.
• Template system.
• Admin control panel to manage the sections contents and members additions ( Or share the Admincp forum CP ) .

The current situation:
• We always keep updating the forum with latest VB versions , now we are running 3.6.3
• the website planed layout will be something like this :
The PSD file is available and will be delivered to you with English comments for the links , you are free to add your touches additions wherever you need .
• The site is run on a dedicated server (Linux).
