Rambus Inc., announced it will demonstrate the first PC running 1200MHz RDRAM memory at the Platform Conference in San Jose, California. In addition, Rambus will present a comparative analysis of memory solutions. The analysis shows RDRAM is an excellent choice for high bandwidth PCs now and in the future.
Rambus will demonstrate an overclocked PC with RDRAM Memory running at 1200MHz. Sporting a peak bandwidth of 4.8GB/s, the system will be running popular benchmarks to illustrate both outstanding performance and reliable operation. The RDRAM roadmap includes adding speed bins at 1066 MHz and 1200MHz without changes to the RDRAM design or industry infrastructure. The RDRAM memory components used for the demonstration are devices directly off a high volume 800MHz production line.
