Today, April 14, 2008, Layered Technologies announced the acquisition of FastServers.net in a move that brings these outstanding companies together to offer the broadest range of services in the hosting industry. Our combined organization is a leader in both the unmanaged and managed hosting space and the newly emerging utility / cloud computing market.



I wanted to be the first to let you know about this exciting announcement which is just the latest in a string of positive advances towards providing additional services and increasing value to our clients and partners. In the last 30 days we announced that: Layered Technologies obtained significant new investment (even in a very tough financial market), brought on a new Chief Financial Officer, and are now teaming up with FastServers.net. While much of the market is standing still, we are charging ahead.



Our reasons for the acquisition are simple:

· The combination improves our ability to provide a cross section of advanced customer support options

· Our new company can combine advancements in virtualization and grid technology with multiple managed service options

· Our product lines and customer bases have very little overlap, making them highly complimentary

· The infrastructure of the combined organization improves scale, and doubles our geographic footprint



Initially both the FastServers.net and Layered Technologies names will be maintained, with FastServers becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Layered Technologies. However, we will rapidly move towards becoming one company in all aspects including: customer support, product lines, sales and marketing, R&D, and operations. Over the coming weeks you will begin to see the cross pollination of products and services as we simultaneously work towards back end integration.
