Yes, iWEBTOOL Did Get Hacked
On the evening of 19th October, many of you probably noticed our website with the funny picture and text on the main page. We would like to clear up that wasn't done intentionally and we did actually get hacked. Turns out some guys just doesn't like us the way others do.
We believe the hacking took place somewhere around 7pm (EST). The person who attacked us managed to get into our web hosting manager (not the server access) through brute force (apparently) and after getting in, the person terminated all the accounts under the server. The databases, files, and everything else was gone along with the accounts.
Nevertheless, we are thankful to have a copy of the websites on a separate partition which the attacker had no access to. After a couple of hours of downtime, we are happy to be back online. We have installed some security onto our servers to avoid this next time, the new security should hopefully do the trick.
